Love...for all Teachers!

When you have five kids, you get to know many, many teachers in the community over the years and we have been so blessed to have so many GREAT teachers!! Many of my best friends are teachers and WE just L-O-V-E all teachers. My husband has been a high-school math teacher for the past 20 years...this year is his first year as an AP (Assistant Principal) at our high-school, so if you were wondering what an AP is,
that card is for him...the "World's Greatest AP"!

I made these 8"x 3.5" Teacher Appreciation cards using the Colonial White Die-Cut Cards & Envelopes pack (Z1738). I love the little wrap-around flap that can be covered with paper and embellished (shown at the bottom of these cards). Papers I used include Buzz & Bumble (X7164B) for the striped pattern and retired bulk Typeset (Juniper) papers (X7139B). Colors I used include Cocoa, Colonial White, Juniper, and Sunset. Stamp sets I used include Perfect Fit-Dad (C1542) for the "World's Greatest" image, For Every Occasion (D1187) for the "Thanks" sentiment, A Typeface (A1117) for the letters "ap", and the Cricut Artiste Collection "Kudos" (D1530)
stamp set for the medallion part of the ribbon.

These cards also fit the Heart 2 Heart Challenge for this week...to share something created to show "Teacher Appreciation." I hope you will visit the Heart 2 Heart Challenge Blog now for more creative ideas and inspiration!

Last day of school Teacher Cards and Gifts!!

Today is the last day of school for my 6th grader (Isabelle) and my 3rd grader (Wendy)! We were so blessed to have such excellent teachers again this past year. Isabelle actually had two teachers (Ms. Korsak and Miss J Nelson) and Wendy had just one (Mrs. R Nelson) for a total of three gifts to give...so these are the gifts we came up with for them:

They are getting Scentsy Layers Body Butter and Hand Cream (smells so yummy)!

Here are all three gifts together!

...and finally a close-up view of the card we made for them!

Emily had her last day of school yesterday. She played her piccolo with the band at graduation last night and she is so excited to now be officially a "Junior" in high school! My 7th grader (Jose Jr.) is playing his saxophone with the band today at the 8th grade graduation at the Junior High (can't believe he'll be an 8th grader promoting next year)! Juan Steven is enjoying a special play day at the park with his pre-school class today complete with a bounce house and train rides - he was so excited for that! Juan Steven (age 4) still has a few more weeks of pre-school left to attend before we will ALL be home together for the summer! I just LOVE this time of year!! :)

Hand-stitched Teacher card for H2H!

Here's a standard-size card that I created for the Heart 2 Heart blog challenge this week. The challenge was to include stitching of some kind on your creation. I chose to use some hand-stitching with black waxy flax. I didn't use a ruler or a guide of any kind to help me with the spacing of my stitching because I wanted it to look like it was really sewn by hand (and thus, not look too perfect, lol). The stamp set I used is School Rocks B1396 with the Typeset paper pack X7139B. Ink pad colors I used include Black, Cocoa, and Juniper (with Bamboo, Parchment, and Vineyard Berry markers for the coloring in of the school house). Teacher appreciation week is coming up in a few weeks, and because I know so many teachers (and am married to one!), I have been trying to think up some card ideas for them. I hope to come up with a few more "teacher appreciation" ideas that I can post and share again soon!

A "Teacher Appreciation" Card with the Typeset papers!

The Heart 2 Heart Blog challenge this week was to create something to celebrate this time of year when kids of all ages are going back to school! (Remember you can click on my photo to see all the details much larger)! I decided to use our NEW Typeset papers X7139B to create this simple standard size "teacher appreciation" card. The stamps I used included D1361 Thank You for the "thanks" sentiment, B1380 Mayberry (WOTG stamp set) for the apple and leaves, and an "oldie but goodie" wooden stamp I123 Best Teacher for the large sentiment. I haven't kept very many of my old wood stamps from my early days of stampin' with CTMH, but I just couldn't part with this one because it is a stamp I find myself drawn to and have kept on using it again and again! My husband is a teacher, many of my best friends are teachers, and teachers are just...well...Close to my Heart!! (pun intended!)

As my kids have just finished up their first week of school, my plan is to do a much better job this year of making sure that all of our teachers know how much we appreciate them for the very important and sometimes difficult work they do!!
