February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

Thank you for stopping by to enjoy our February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop featuring this month's SOTM:
 Home Sweet Home S1302!

If you've just arrived here from HELEN'S BLOG then you are on the correct path.

This month I created a simple house-shaped card that is approximately standard-size (4.25" tall x 5.5" wide). Colors I used are Black, Cashmere, Colonial White, and Cranberry. I cut my sentiment stamp in half so I could stamp half of it on the front of the card and the rest on the inside of the card. I also used the January promotion special "Whooo's Your Valentine" stamp set to stamp my background with Cashmere ink and to stamp the larger hearts with Cranberry and Cashmere ink. My card is embellished with our oh-so-versatile NEW Durables Artisan Studs Z1816. Here's the inside view of the card as well (below):

I would suggest stamping the background hearts on the house shape with Cashmere ink (tone-on-tone stamping) BEFORE you adhere it to the front of the card base. As you can see from the photos (below) I waited to stamp with the background image until after the card was assembled which meant I had to add the additional step of using my Cricut-cut scraps to cover up the holes where the windows are before stamping (as shown in last photo below), when it would have been a little faster and easier to just do the stamping first:
This card was much easier to make than it looks.  I started by simply cutting the House "Layer" shape from Cashmere cardstock using the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge at 4.25".  Then I adhered it to the front of a 4.25" x 11" piece of Colonial White cardstock that I had folded in half with the crease along the left side as shown (above).

Then I used scissors to trim off the excess Colonial White cardstock around the outside edge of the card base (cutting through two layers of cardstock at once). I also trimmed out the door of the house on just the front of the card as you can see (below):

Finally, here are all of the images (below) that come in this lovely stamp set
that is available during February 2013 only!

Now you can continue on with our Blog Hop to be inspired by more creativity using this stamp set by visiting MELISSA'S BLOG next! Enjoy!!
