February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

Thank you for stopping by to enjoy our February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop featuring this month's SOTM:
 Home Sweet Home S1302!

If you've just arrived here from HELEN'S BLOG then you are on the correct path.

This month I created a simple house-shaped card that is approximately standard-size (4.25" tall x 5.5" wide). Colors I used are Black, Cashmere, Colonial White, and Cranberry. I cut my sentiment stamp in half so I could stamp half of it on the front of the card and the rest on the inside of the card. I also used the January promotion special "Whooo's Your Valentine" stamp set to stamp my background with Cashmere ink and to stamp the larger hearts with Cranberry and Cashmere ink. My card is embellished with our oh-so-versatile NEW Durables Artisan Studs Z1816. Here's the inside view of the card as well (below):

I would suggest stamping the background hearts on the house shape with Cashmere ink (tone-on-tone stamping) BEFORE you adhere it to the front of the card base. As you can see from the photos (below) I waited to stamp with the background image until after the card was assembled which meant I had to add the additional step of using my Cricut-cut scraps to cover up the holes where the windows are before stamping (as shown in last photo below), when it would have been a little faster and easier to just do the stamping first:
This card was much easier to make than it looks.  I started by simply cutting the House "Layer" shape from Cashmere cardstock using the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge at 4.25".  Then I adhered it to the front of a 4.25" x 11" piece of Colonial White cardstock that I had folded in half with the crease along the left side as shown (above).

Then I used scissors to trim off the excess Colonial White cardstock around the outside edge of the card base (cutting through two layers of cardstock at once). I also trimmed out the door of the house on just the front of the card as you can see (below):

Finally, here are all of the images (below) that come in this lovely stamp set
that is available during February 2013 only!

Now you can continue on with our Blog Hop to be inspired by more creativity using this stamp set by visiting MELISSA'S BLOG next! Enjoy!!

Sign up now for my FAST, FUN, and DONE Scrapbooking Classes!!

Do you struggle to find the time to finish the scrapbooking pages you've started?
Let me help you get more of them "done" this year with my NEW
"FAST, FUN, and DONE"
Scrapbooking Classes
starting this month!
Friday, January 25th (7pm-10pm) and/or
Saturday, January 26th (1pm-5pm)

You choose which date works best for you (or atttend both)!
If you can stay the entire time, you should have a little extra time for socializing, snacking, and/or working on any other creative projects you might want to bring with you. You can also choose from my basket of pre-cut card designs that are left-over from my monthly card-making classes and make any of those as well (3 cards for $5).

All it will take is just 2-3 hours of your time once a month
to create two 12x12 layouts (four pages total) for just $20!
For just $20 per month, I can help you complete 48 scrapbook pages this year!! Can you imagine how great it will feel to accomplish this so affordably and so quickly with just a few hours of your time each month?!  I will design the pages and have all of the materials pre-cut for you. Then you simply ink, assemble, add your photos/journaling, and embellish them as shown (or use your own creativity to change up the design as you'd like to fit your photos and your style). This will be the new format for most of the scrapbooking classes that I will be offering this next year because I know exactly how difficult it can be to find time for creating when you are just so busy living life and making all the memories!

This month's pages will feature your choice of either
the CLEMENTINE or the DAKOTA kit!
Class attendees will get a full assortment of self-adhesive CLEMENTINE Complements Canvas Sheets (X7156C) or DAKOTA Complements Foil Images (X7157C) to use, as well as a variety of other coordinating embellishments.

I highly recommend that you bring photos with you to finish your pages during class time when possible, but you do also have the option to add your photos later at home if you need to. Our number one goal though is to help you get your pages DONE quickly and beautifully, so bringing your photos to get your layouts completely finished with my coaching during class time really is the best option to help you feel successful at this!

PLEASE contact me to RSVP and
Reserve your kit no later than Saturday night 1/19!!
The $20 kit option can be paid for when you attend the class!
You also still have the option to pre-order the full WOTG kit shown in the Idea Book that includes the coordinating stamp set for $35 or the WOTG kit with the stamp set and coordinating Complements for $40 (pre-payment is needed with these options).

January SOTM "Happy Valentine's" Blog Hop!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!...
and Thank you for stopping by to enjoy our January Stamp of the Month Blog Hop featuring this month's SOTM:
 Happy Valentine's S1301!

If you've just arrived here from PAMELA'S BLOG then you are on the correct path.

This standard-size card design featuring the La Belle Vie papers (X7158B) is inspired by Originals - Sweet & Simple (p. 108). Images were stamped with Black Staz-On ink and colored in with Smokey Plum and Sweet Leaf markers. Edge distressing is done with a sponge dauber and Desert Sand ink. Notice how I colored the adhesive-backed bling gem (from the Boutique assortment Z1763) with a Smokey Plum marker. Our NEW alcohol-based markers can be used to color any of our clear sparkles and pearl adhesive gems nicely! I hope you will try it out!!

Here are all of the images (below) that come in this stamp set
that is available during January 2013 only!

Now you can continue on with our Blog Hop

"Whooo's Your Valentine?" Blog Hop!!

Thank you for stopping by to enjoy our Blog Hop featuring
our newest kit just released to help us celebrate
National Paper-crafting Month in January...
Whooo's Your Valentine?!!

If you've just arrived here from Heather's blog then you are on the correct path.

While this kit makes fun little Valentine's gifts when used as shown (3rd image below), I thought it would be fun to show you how you can change it up just a little and use it to create Christmas-y treats to give this holiday season as well!  I simply stuffed the tube with peppermint candies and used a little Colonial White and Olive Green cardstock that I already had on hand (ink colors I used are Black, Cranberry, Olive, and Saddle).  I cut the Christmas Tree from Colonial White cardstock (AP cartridge at 3") and the Holly Leaves from Olive cardstock (AP cartridge at 1.75").  3-D foam mounting tape gives many of my elements some dimension and I topped it off with a little bit of Burlap Ribbon and Red Sparkles (adhesive gems).

My husband Jose and I will be celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary on December 17th, so I thought this would be a nice little gift for me to give him along with a few other things, next week.

This darling kit, which retails for $40, can be yours for only $10 when you spend $35 or more on any Close To My Heart products from the Autumn/Winter 2012 Idea Book between December 13th and January 31, 2013.  You’ll receive 12 die-cut boxes, 3 cardstock sheets, 1 sheet of silver glitter paper, 12 treat tubes, and an exclusive D-size stamp set created specifically for the kit.  This kit offers you a sneak peek at two NEW Spring/Summer 2013 products: the treat tubes and the silver glitter paper!  Decorate the die-cut boxes with the stamp images, cardstock, and glitter paper. Then attach the clear tube and fill with treats for valentines in a cinch!

Here are some examples of what you might create with your kit:

December SOTM Blog Hop!

Thank you for stopping by to enjoy our December Stamp of the Month Blog Hop featuring this month's SOTM: Year-Round Cheer S1212!

If you've just arrived here from
Judy's blog then you are on the correct path.

This month I have used every single stamp image in the set to create my artwork! The artwork shown in the Idea Book really inspired me, so I decided to use the six 3x3 cards shown there (Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, Jul, and Sept) to help me design a full set of twelve Event Calendar Toppers. All of the designs shown below can be made as 3x3 Cards OR turned into Event Calendar Toppers simply by mounting the 3x3 design on a 3.5" x 3.5" square of Desert Sand Cardstock instead of on a card base. I've included all of the cutting dimensions for you below as well as a list of the materials I used
so it will be easy for you to duplicate if you want to!

One final tip...don't be afraid to CUT YOUR STAMPS!!
Using a pair of sharp Micro-Tip scissors you can carefully and cleanly cut the sentiment part of each stamp apart from rest of the attached image. I even cut off the heart, the sun, and the stem and leaves from the apple so I could stamp them separately with separate colors. While masking and paper-piecing techniques do work well with this stamp set (be sure to use paper-piecing where noted above!), it is so much faster and easier to cut the stamps apart and use just the part of the image that you want wherever you want! :)
